Well I havent posted in awhile as I have been busy working and havent had much time but anyways today is the Ohio Derby at Thistledown today and I live about 10- 15 mins from there depending on traffic and lights and the place will be packed to the gills today so I am staying away and play it online but here are my thoughts on the race with a half way decent field for this race and its hot and I think the rain will stay away so its a fast track Race 9
1) Promise Keeper - This horse is on the improve since the Tampa Bay Derby as it won its last 2 races with small fields. Pletcher has Luis Saez in town to ride this horse.I think he will be in a nice stalking trip as Saez knows how to get him in position. I question will he get there in time when he needs to Im saying yes but use in the gimmicks that is for sure.
2) Falcons Fury - Scratched
3) Hozier - Once a Baffert horse who was given to the barn of Rodolphe Brissett.You might laugh but I give this horse a chance.If this race has a fast pace this one might be closing like a freight train in the stretch but use in the gimmicks
4) King Fury - Havent seen this horse since the Lexington as its was scratched from the KY derby with a fever. I think with first time lasix could be a difference but I am not a fan of Lanerie and McPeek probably was hoping for rain for this race but the forecast changed.No better than 3rd for me.
5) Ethical Judgement - One of the speed horses in this race with Martin Garcia as he is interesting here in the race I say no but use in the gimmicks
6) Hello Hot Rod - Another of the speed horses as this one will try to go to the front in this race but I think this one gets tired at the end and I am tossing the one out.
7) The Reds - Here is one that might benefit with a fast pace as he should be in a nice spot and close like hell in the end. I like this one and use him in the gimmicks.
8) Keepmeinmind - This horse has been running in Grade 1 races and dropping down to the Grade 3 today but something about this horse as he cant finish the deal. Use him in the gimmicks for 2nd 3rd and 4th.
9) Proxy - Scratched
10) Masqueparade - Another speed horse in the race that will try to gun it to the front from this post to get into position.Been hearing alot from the wise guys on this horse but he is moving up in class.I am going to throw this one out could be a mistake but dont like what I see on this one.
11) Channel Fury - The local horse in the race who I wont waste much time on but toss him
So IMO I like the 1 -3- 5 to win this race
